Read the comments. People are getting at their THROATS at this. Civil discussion is rare, it's mostly people jumping down each other's throats screaming about who was in the wrong in this situation.
Oppo, I love you. I can make a lighthearted Ford joke here and everyone chuckles and maybe comes back with a similarly light-hearted poke at GM's addiction to plastic. It's nice, and keeps me smiling. But things that end up on Jalopnik seem to have a critical mass of people who can't take a joke or ignore things that don't line up with their viewpoint, and it's the reason I went from checking Jalopnik 30 times a day to checking it maybe weekly while constantly pounding F5 on Oppo.
Not sure the point of this post, but it's here. Just kinda wanted to rant a bit >_<

The guy in the Ram was a badass, the kid in the veloster should have been beaten more by his parents and his parents obviously fail at being parents.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

I started reading through some of those. Then my head hurt, so I quit.
But I agree 101% It gets a bit ridiculous on the FP. I have even thought of some comments to make (40% sarcastic/60% insightful), but refrained since I did not want to spend my day weeding through replies.

That's why I usually stay off the front-page. If you ever make the mistake of stating an opinion there, prepare to receive no less than seven death threats within an hour, and have your sainted mother's chastity called into question.

I tend to agree. The guy in the Ram did what had to be done. I really don't think that the danger of a multiple-ton white missile careening through a populated area is outweighed by *possible* damage to the child that caused all of this.
All things considered, it was a pretty tame impact, as well.
As for the kid, if he was 7 or 8 I would think it was just a case of not knowing what a car is, how it works, etc. I mean, who didn't find the keys left in their parents car when they were young and roll it down the driveway? I didn't, but I hear that's common.
But this kid is 14. He knows better. I'm sure this will be blamed on video games somehow, but given what I've seen of little shits like this I blame the world as a whole for perpetuating the obnoxious "the world owes me" attitude kids like this seem to have with their sneers, ignoring older wiser people and complete lack of respect that could be compounded by inadequate parenting.
Shit, I sound like an old man. I'll stop now.
I am never having kids.

People don't understand the capacity to kill, especially if it's to protect your child. Man, society really has gone soft. This wasn't a "stupid prank" by some hormone ridden, pimple faced punk. This little shit almost killed three kids. I won't give the time of day to those who think otherwise.
Bryson Rowley was driving the truck, and he said he intentionally used his truck as a ram rod to stop the fleeing vehicle. Rowley provided the pictures and videos in this story, and though he did not wish to go on camera he said he acted to end the chase because he was afraid for the safety of his and other children at the park.

You can have kids, just tell them that they are owed NOTHING by anyone. My wife and I remind our two kids that from time to time, and they are only 9 and 5.

I'm not a father, nor do I ever intend on having kids. At least not biologically. But I can understand the instinct to protect your children and I probably would not have been as level-headed as Bryson. Props to him for keeping calm.

Like RacecaR said, you can have kids, mine isn't even a year and a half and already knows to say please and thank you. It's about parenting, which was never easy to begin with.
I think you're right in all circumstances. And something the FP idiots don't realize is...how would the RAM guy know if it was a 14 yr old or an 18 yr old...or even a 22 yr old?

Eh, I've got other biological reasons for not having kids. Several disorders and such that I don't want anyone else to have to deal with. And less money on kids means more money on cars.

What he did was incredibly calm, for sure.
In video, you hear him pull up in the frame, let off the gas, brake, and then position himself in front of the car. If the teenager died, it would have been a fault all of his own. My opinion would possibly be different if the truck rammed the car going 50.
